‘I’d like an order of filth, with extra putridity, a double side of riffs, and…oh, can you grind up some core on top of the whole thing?’
‘Sure. We have just what you’re looking for. We call it Nasty Surgeons. I’ll throw one on for you right away…’
Coming back strong on Infectious Stench, after a more than solid debut in 2017’s Exhumation Requiem, Nasty Surgeons rip more, shred more, and grind more…and I’m mostly talking about what they do with corpses. Just kidding. There’s Carcass worship aplenty here though, with waves of grinding riffs, old school guitar tones, a rhythm section that gives the whole thing a little headbanging groove, and filth laden vocals that wash over you like used formaldehyde.
Across nearly forty minutes (quite possibly the perfect length for an album), and eleven tracks, Nasty Surgeons pull no punches in proving that their debut was no fluke. The four piece are veteran musicians who know how to construct songs, and more, know how to construct a cohesive album. Give it a listen to see why Nasty Surgeons are one of the most exciting deathgrind bands to hit the scene in recent years.
Recommendation – Pick up this filthiness
Rating – 4/5
