Heavy Metal Around the Globe
Black Braid – I
If I were to have more children (I’m not), bits of the album would probably be embedded in their DNA.
EXCLUSIVE TRACK PREMIERE: Heads for the Dead – The Bloodline
Perhaps we could call this atmospheric OSDM, but the atmosphere is one of blackest horror.
EXCLUSIVE TRACK PREMIERE: Abaddon Incarnate – Hyperchaos
With veins of droning terror running throughout, The Wretched Sermon is a riff-filled manifestation of brutality.
Vital Spirit – Still As The Night, Cold As The Wind
As I sit here and listen to this masterpiece a bazillionth time, I realize I still have no idea how to write about it, but as they say, I’m willing to give it the old college try.
Drunk MFs – Dead End EP
The grooving rhythms will have you bopping your head while you wait for the bartender to pour you another. Interesting riffs keep the party going, while you find yourself singing along with Father W’s strong clear voice throughout. Dead End is a party you don’t want to miss!
Mouthful of Locusts – Human Dissonance EP
Basically take parts of those two bands, a little hardcore, a little jazz, the dissonant sensibilities of Diskord or Replicant and you might be in the right wheelhouse.
Jesus Wept – Psychedelic Degeneracy EP
Death metal with a grindy sound, but not the grind speed. Nasty riffs that I’m pretty sure could actually cut you if you listen too closely. A nice mid-paced groove that gets the ole noggin’ banging. What’s not to like?
Manos Six and the Muddy Devil – Swamp Suicide
Pain and grief walk hand in hand to draw the listener deep into a shattered psyche. Swamp Suicide is an engrossing listen, rich in spirit, disturbing during a deep listen.
Predatory Light – Death And The Twilight Hours
Death And The Twilight Hours was released through 20 Buck Spin on May 20th, 2022, and can be found on multiple listening platforms and in various formats. Make sure to check out the album and the label.
Joey “Shithead” Keithley on D.O.A.
…as far as lyrics go and actions and different causes that you might help, you must keep progressing and learning.
xIron Sharpens Ironx – The Aftermath of Tragedy EP
Passenier doesn’t just sing the lines…he sweats them, breathes them, bleeds them.
Heruka – Memorie
It’s a charm that black metal gives that I will never grow tired of.
Kaleido
If there ever was such a thing as a kaleidoscope of music, Detroit’s own Kaleido would fit that description. With a style of music described as alternative, punk, pop, indie, rock and metal…they are ever changing and evolving keeping listeners on their toes waiting to...
Biollante – J’Espère Que Tu Danseras Quelque Part
I’m typing, bobbing my head, and tapping my foot all to the push-pull rhythms of the music, so mission accomplished.

Lokella – As We Unravel
I’m reminded of Ume sometimes, Joan Jett others, and even occasionally L7.
EXCLUSIVE VIDEO PREMIERE: Godhole – Punish the Roughnecks
This one is a face-ripper!
Vimur – Transcendental Violence
Vimur is undoubtedly amongst the Atlanta Elite, and I am damn proud to review their latest release, Transcendental Violence.
Truchło Strzygi – Gwiezdny Demon
Highly recommend this one to anyone who is up and up on the Polish scene right now, and fans of Filth of Mankind, or old school thrash or black metal and are looking for a modern take on a classic sound.
The Flower of Love – Pan’s Not Dead
The consistent thread is the consistent excellence of the music.
Slaegt – Goddess
It so groovy, technical, heavy, blackened with death metal qualities that are all bounded by black leather.
EXCLUSIVE TRACK PREMIERE: Feral Light – Enveloped and Transformed
Psychic Contortions is a gripping ride through an atmosphere bleak with dense disturbances.
Gin Lane – Unpleasant Promises
Father W. shows that genre is irrelevant in his ability to pour forth musical passion, rage, and disgust for the horrors humanity unleashes in the world around us.
EXCLUSIVE TRACK PREMIERE: Et Moriemur – Takamagahara
The palette of feelings used to paint this musical landscape is rich and varied.
