Depressive black metal, which I guess this stuff most accurately is, manages to surprise me constantly by not being as depressing as I imagine it might sound.
Most of it is atmospheric, melodic, noisy, and (most times) almost romantic sounding to me.
Gothic, doomy, grandstand rock’n’roll types of black metal ballads on every note here. Blistering blasts and fills kicking you in your shorthair regions, blasting all types of pro-active music that only three people you know wanna hear. Riffs and beats just runnin’, then breaking down into bliss.
This is what that “have another drink, smoke on this, do you need a ride?” black metal sounds like.
We might get crazy for a minute, wanna burn your church. The next minute, we are singing you a love song in your native tongue.
At the end of the day, if I was trapped on the side of a mountain in Norway, I’d definitely wanna hear this at some point.
