If blackened death that sounds as if it has taken a millennium to seep up through the very crust of the Earth sounds like your kind of thing, then I can highly recommend that you get your filthy muckraking hands upon this release.

While the two sides are noticeably different, they do make a coherent whole, as both projects reach outside the box for their sound.

The band doesn’t seem to have missed a beat, as they pick up exactly where they left off, but with some extra attitude included.
Discarnatus – Death and Depravity
…this ability to compel the listener is very much present on this nearly twenty-six minute release. I find myself taken out of time and drawn into the particular corner of the void inhabited by this eight legged monster.
The Sarcophagus – Beyond This World’s Illusions (Review and Interview)
Beyond This World’s Illusions is a beast called to life by this passion. Both anguished and terrifying, the creature moves of its own accord, drawing the listener along in its wake.
